Building Meadowfield

The aim from the beginning was straightforward: keep raising the standard.

Over the years, Meadowfield has developed from a traditional local garage into a modern independent workshop, while keeping the personal service and accountability that comes from being a locally owned business.

We've continually invested in our workshop, equipment, technology and technician training, allowing our team to look after increasingly complex modern vehicles alongside the everyday work our customers rely on us for.

Today, Meadowfield provides MOT testing, car servicing, vehicle repairs, tyres and diagnostics in Ponteland, together with specialist services including wet belt replacement, automatic gearbox servicing and hybrid and electric vehicle maintenance.

A family-run independent garage

In 2020, Stephen's partner Ellie joined Meadowfield after working within the BMW and MINI dealer network.

Together, Stephen and Ellie have continued developing Meadowfield around the principles that matter to them: straightforward advice, high standards, continual improvement and treating customers as people rather than job numbers.

Meadowfield remains proudly independent and family-run.

Investing in our people

Modern vehicles don't stand still, so neither can the people maintaining them.

Our technicians undertake ongoing professional training covering areas including vehicle diagnostics, hybrid and electric vehicles, DSG and double-clutch transmissions, timing-drive technology, chassis control systems, AdBlue and modern vehicle inspection.

That investment in knowledge allows Meadowfield to continue developing alongside the vehicles arriving in our workshop.

Recognised by the motor industry

As Meadowfield has developed, our work has also received recognition from across the automotive industry.

We've been recognised through the Servicesure Autocentre of the Year awards, Top Garage Awards, IGA BIG Awards, AM Awards, Automechanika Garage of the Year and Motor Trader Industry Awards, alongside individual recognition for members of our team.

Those awards matter to us because they provide independent recognition of the standards we've worked to build.

But they've never been the reason we make improvements.

Recognition follows standards — not the other way around.

Still independent. Just stronger.

In 2026, Meadowfield became part of the 1TEC Auto Hub network, connecting our independent Ponteland workshop with technical knowledge, training and leading automotive brands including Shell, MPM Oil, VARTA, Pagid, Schaeffler, ZF Aftermarket and Valeo.

Joining 1TEC hasn't changed who we are.

Meadowfield remains independently owned and run, with the same local team making the decisions.

It simply supports the direction we've been travelling since 2016: investing in knowledge, embracing modern vehicle technology and continually raising our standards.

Still independent. Still Meadowfield. Just stronger.

Ten years of Meadowfield

December 2026 marks ten years since Meadowfield Auto Centre was established.

A lot has changed in those ten years.

Cars have become more complex. Our workshop has developed. Our team's knowledge has grown. New services and technologies have been introduced. We've received recognition we could never have predicted when Meadowfield began.

But the fundamentals haven't changed.

We're still an independent garage in Ponteland.

We're still focused on looking after our customers and their vehicles properly.

And we're still trying to make Meadowfield better than it was the year before.

Proudly Ponteland

Ponteland isn't simply where Meadowfield happens to be located.

It's where Stephen grew up, where his first experience of the motor trade began and where Meadowfield has built its reputation.

The workshop itself has been part of Ponteland's motoring history since the 1970s. Meadowfield is simply the latest chapter in that story.

And we're proud to be writing the next one.
