Awards & Recognition

Meadowfield Auto Centre is an award-winning independent garage in Ponteland, Northumberland, with recognition from some of the UK's leading automotive industry awards.

Since Meadowfield was established in 2016, our focus has been on continually improving the business: investing in our people, developing our technical capabilities and raising the standards we provide for our customers.

That work has resulted in a record of industry recognition spanning regional wins, runner-up positions and national finalist appearances.

We're proud of every one of them.

Not because we built Meadowfield to win awards, but because they provide independent recognition of the standards we've worked to build here in Ponteland.

In 2021, Meadowfield achieved one of our first major industry successes when we were named Servicesure North & East Midlands winner.

It was a significant moment for the business.

Just five years after Meadowfield Auto Centre was established, our small independent garage in Ponteland had received regional recognition within a national garage network.

Winner — Servicesure North & East Midlands, 2021

The same year brought recognition on another stage when Meadowfield Auto Centre became a Top Garage finalist.

The Top Garage Awards focus on the UK independent garage sector, making recognition particularly meaningful to a business like Meadowfield.

Reaching the final in 2021 was another indication that the work taking place in our Ponteland garage was beginning to receive attention across the wider automotive industry.

Finalist — Top Garage Awards, 2021

2022 became one of the most significant years in Meadowfield's early awards history.

During the year, the business received recognition from Servicesure, the IGA BIG Awards and the AM Awards.

Following our regional win in 2021, Meadowfield returned to the Servicesure awards in 2022 and was named:

Runner-up — Servicesure North & East Midlands, 2022

Being recognised in consecutive years was particularly important to us.

A single award is something to celebrate.

Returning the following year and being recognised again demonstrated something else:

consistency.

In 2022, Meadowfield was selected as a Garage of the Year finalist at the IGA BIG Awards.

The awards are organised by the Independent Garage Association, an organisation representing the interests of independent garages across the UK.

Being selected as a finalist placed Meadowfield alongside independent garages from across the country.

Finalist — Garage of the Year, IGA BIG Awards 2022

Meadowfield received a second IGA BIG Awards finalist position in 2022, this time for:

Best Independent Garage

For a business built around remaining genuinely independent, recognition in this category was especially significant.

Our 2022 recognition extended beyond awards dedicated specifically to independent garages.

Meadowfield was also selected as a finalist for:

Independent Workshop of the Year — AM Awards 2022

The AM Awards recognise businesses and individuals from across the UK automotive industry.

This gave Meadowfield another opportunity to represent an independent garage from Ponteland and Northumberland on a national industry stage.

In 2023, Meadowfield returned to winning ways with Servicesure.

Following our North & East Midlands win in 2021 and runner-up position in 2022, Meadowfield was named:

Winner — Servicesure North East, 2023

That created a particularly important run of recognition:

Three consecutive years of Servicesure recognition meant more to us than any one result in isolation.

It demonstrated sustained recognition of Meadowfield over several years as the business continued to develop.

In 2025, one of Meadowfield's proudest awards belonged not to the garage, but to one of the people behind it.

Ellie won the Inspiring Returner Award at the Woman in the Motor Industry Awards 2025.

Ellie joined Meadowfield in 2020 after previously working within the BMW and MINI dealer environment and has subsequently played an important role in developing the business alongside Stephen.

Seeing Ellie recognised individually by the automotive industry was a particularly special moment for Meadowfield.

By 2026, Meadowfield was approaching its tenth anniversary.

It also became another significant year for national industry recognition.

In 2026, Meadowfield was recognised at the Automechanika Garage Awards in the Best Single Site Garage category.

After reaching the final, Meadowfield ultimately finished as runner-up.

For an independent, single-site garage from Ponteland, finishing runner-up in a national Garage of the Year competition represented another major milestone.

Runner-up — Best Single Site Garage, Automechanika Garage Awards 2026

Five years after our first Top Garage finalist appearance, Meadowfield returned to the national finals in 2026.

That gap is important to us.

The Meadowfield being assessed in 2026 was a considerably more developed business than the garage that first reached the Top Garage final in 2021.

But once again, Meadowfield Auto Centre was recognised among leading businesses within the UK independent garage sector.

Finalist — Top Garage Awards 2026

Our 2026 awards year continued when Meadowfield was named a Garage of the Year finalist at the Motor Trader Industry Awards.

The Motor Trader Industry Awards recognise businesses and individuals from across the UK motor industry.

Being selected as a Garage of the Year finalist added another major national awards organisation to Meadowfield's growing record of recognition.

For customers who simply want the highlights, this is Meadowfield's record:

One part of that record we're particularly proud of is our Servicesure history.

Across three consecutive years, Meadowfield achieved:

For us, that progression represents something important.

Consistency.

Recognition once is an achievement.

Being recognised repeatedly demonstrates that the standards behind it weren't temporary.

Another aspect of Meadowfield's awards history matters to us.

It hasn't come from one organisation.

Our recognition has come through Servicesure, Top Garage, the Independent Garage Association's BIG Awards, the AM Awards, the Woman in the Motor Industry Awards, Automechanika Garage Awards and the Motor Trader Industry Awards.

Those organisations represent different parts of the UK automotive industry.

Together, they provide independent recognition of both Meadowfield Auto Centre as a business and the people behind it.

We're extremely proud of this page.

But we don't run Meadowfield to fill it.

Awards are the evidence, not the objective.

The objective is what happens in our garage in Ponteland every day.

The awards provide independent recognition that people outside Meadowfield have noticed that work.

That's why they mean something to us.

Read our ethos

There's something else we're proud of every time Meadowfield reaches an awards final.

The name on the entry is:

Meadowfield Auto Centre — Ponteland, Northumberland.

We're an independently owned local garage.

It's where Meadowfield was established in 2016.

It's where our customers are.

And it's where we're still based today.

To have taken the Meadowfield name from Ponteland to national automotive industry awards — and to have done so repeatedly — is something we're enormously proud of.

But every award eventually comes back to the same place.

Raise standards year after year.

The recognition follows.
