Five Years in Business – and a Servicesure Award to Celebrate

Five years after Stephen Browne took over the Ponteland garage that became Meadowfield Auto Centre, we have another reason to celebrate – we've been named a Servicesure Regional Autocentre of the Year.

Five Years in Business – and a Servicesure Award to Celebrate

December 2021 marks a pretty significant milestone for us at Meadowfield Auto Centre.

It's been five years since Stephen Browne took over the garage on Meadowfield Industrial Estate in Ponteland in December 2016.

And we couldn't have asked for a much better way to celebrate our fifth anniversary.

Meadowfield Auto Centre has been named a Servicesure Regional Autocentre of the Year.

For a small independent garage in Ponteland, it's a fantastic way to round off our first five years.

Five years of Meadowfield

Stephen's connection with the garage goes back much further than five years.

He first spent time here on work experience while at school in Ponteland and later worked at the garage when it operated as A&K Motors, before gaining further experience elsewhere in the motor trade.

In December 2016, he returned to take over the business himself.

A new name followed, and on 3 January 2017 Meadowfield Auto Centre officially opened its doors.

The aim was to build an independent garage that combined good old-fashioned customer service with increasingly high standards of vehicle maintenance and repair.

Five years later, that's still what we're working towards.

From a new business to an award-winning garage

A lot has happened during those first five years.

We've continued to develop our MOT testing, servicing, repairs and vehicle maintenance, invested in the garage and its equipment and adapted as the vehicles we work on have become increasingly sophisticated.

We've become involved with our local community through events such as the Ponteland Duck Race, supported Ponteland Golf Club, backed local motorsport and worked with other local businesses including Blagdon Farm Shop.

In 2020, Ellie joined Meadowfield, bringing with her experience from the BMW and MINI main-dealer network.

That same year we installed an electric vehicle charging point at our Ponteland garage, another small indication of how both Meadowfield and the cars we look after continue to change.

Through all of it, we've remained an independent local garage with a relatively simple objective:

Keep improving.

Servicesure Regional Autocentre of the Year

So receiving a Servicesure Regional Autocentre of the Year award in 2021 feels particularly special.

Servicesure is a national network of independent garages, making recognition from within that network something we're extremely proud of.

But the timing makes this one even better.

Five years ago, Meadowfield Auto Centre didn't exist.

There was a garage, a new owner, a new name and plenty of ideas about what the business could become.

Now we're celebrating our fifth anniversary as an award-winning independent garage.

That's quite a nice way to mark the occasion.

Thank you

An award might have our name on it, but five years of Meadowfield wouldn't have happened without the people around us.

Our team, our suppliers, other local businesses and, most importantly, the customers who've chosen to trust us with their cars have all played a part.

Some of those customers have been with us since the very beginning.

So this anniversary – and this award – belongs to everyone who's helped Meadowfield get this far.

We're enormously proud of what we've built during our first five years.

But we're much more interested in what we can build during the next five.

Not a bad way to celebrate.
